What you can expect for your money
There are mains only powered systems from big names like Bose, Cyrus and JBL, as well as five fully portable systems from the likes of Altec Lansing, Logic 3 and Gear 4. The build quality of these systems is a bit hit and miss but they will complement the iPod's styling.
One other thing to bear in mind is that some units only support specific Apple models, while others accept any type of iPod. Read the reviews in the following sections to make the right selection.
